The authors make it clear that US companies in non-healthcare sectors have made enormous strides in publicly reporting the environmental impact of their operations. Some 2,000 major companies, including 90% of S&P 500 companies, annually produce such sustainability reports. The vast majority of U.S. health care organizations do not.
