There are three different types of emissions that bond rating agencies (and soon the CMS Office of Climate Change) look at when rating a health system on its emissions. These are Scope 1 and 2 emissions, which come from the health system itself and the generation of electricity used by the system, and Scope 3 emissions, which come from the supply chain.
